Did you know there are 2 types of freckles? The 2 types are: simple freckles called, ephelides and sunburn freckles called, lentigines.
Simple freckles are usually red, tan, brown, black, or yellow, but are usually uniform in color throughout one person’s body. Oftentimes, simple freckles are genetic and are usually darker in the summer and lighter during the winter. Simple freckles are not harmful or dangerous.
Sunburn freckles don’t fade during the winter months. They also tend to be darker in color than simple freckles, and may have irregular borders. Sunburn freckles are a result of the skin receiving too much sun. This type of freckle does have the potential to develop into something dangerous, like skin cancer, and you may want to consider treatment.
